Showcasing SoDel: Volunteering at the Wine, Food & Music Festival!

Sposato Family Winery

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a photographer at the Southern Delaware Wine, Food, and Music Festival—an event that not only celebrates the finest sips and eats in our region but also serves as a powerful showcase of our community’s depth, diversity, and undeniable charm.

As someone who often works behind the scenes helping businesses find their voice and visual identity, it was a refreshing change to be behind the lens in a different way—capturing the soul of an event that brings together local chefs, musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs for a cause.

More than a food and wine event, this festival reinforces what many of us already know: that our region is more than a vacation spot—it’s a cultural destination. A place where culinary innovation, artistic talent, and genuine hospitality come together to create experiences that resonate well beyond a weekend.

Volunteering here reminded me of the importance of storytelling—whether through marketing, consulting, or a well-timed photograph. It’s about highlighting what makes people and places shine, and doing so in a way that invites others in.

If you’ve never been to the Southern Delaware Wine, Food, and Music Festival, put it on your list. You’ll walk away full, inspired, and reminded of just how much this region has to offer.
